Volunteer Work

Laila has been raised in a family where for many generations, members have offered their services to the local and global community by helping those in need, grass roots efforts, community outreach, implementation of new organizations, and personal empowerment. Currently, Laila is one of the Coordinators for the Center For Mindful Self-Compassion’s global online program called MSC Circles of Practice Public Offering. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, this program has offered free, daily drop-in guided meditations three times a day, seven days a week for everyone around the world. In addition, there are weekly sessions for two affinity groups, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+.

These free sessions on mindful self-compassion provide a safe refuge, support, and common humanity for many who are suffering due to the direct and indirect effects of the pandemic. Register here for these free guided meditations.
